Having a brilliant strategy is not enough. Until a strategy has been successfully executed, it is nothing more than an idea. Yet executing strategy is often like a game of snakes and ladders. Some actions drive an organization closer to success. While others take the organization backwards. This newsletter focuses on three aspects of executing a strategy.

The first blog post "Quick wins = strategic losses" looks at a potential snake - using quick wins inappropriately. It suggests that while quick wins are a useful tool for managers dealing with existing operations, they often work against leaders working on more complex strategic projects.

Many organizations use projects as a useful ladder when implementing their strategies. Anton van den Berg discusses how to use project management offices (PMOs) to standardize project related activities throughout the organization.

Then Ken Ideus discusses the transformation journey that we undertake as we climb up the leadership hierarchy. This becomes a continuous journey of growth and development.

Sometimes executing a new strategy requires a change of structure. We add 2 new OD interventions into our member zone to help leaders to deal with the after effects of restructuring.
